Story of Khotto (and that’s not Gujarati)

This is my new piece that was published in today’s Mumbai Mirror.


  • Gujjus are loud, but that’s why I love them.

  • A khotto is like idli but way too softer and tastier when prepared right! It is a laborious process,collect leaves from Jack fruit tree and make cups out of those and then steam them with idli batter, so it is prepared on special occasions.Being a GSB , I am a die hard fan of Khotto.

  • The more I have it, the more I like it. THanks for the info.
